On May 18, 2018, a federal judge sentenced 34-year-old Paul Lloyd to 25 years in federal prison without parole. On March 17, 2016, Lloyd entered a jewelry store and inquired about several pieces of jewelry. After conversing with a sales associate, Lloyd brandished a gun and ordered the associate to give him all the jewelry. After the clerk hesitated, Lloyd fired a shot into the wall. The bullet� went through the wall and into an adjacent restaurant. No one was injured.� Lloyd took several items and then fled from the store. Two days after the robbery, Lloyd carjacked the owner of a Mustang, which eventually led to a police chase. He crashed the vehicle and then fled on foot. Police were able to arrest him after his foot became entangled in a barbed wire fence. Lloyd was also ordered to pay $7, 615 in restitution.
