On 8/3/18, 47-year-old, Keith Marvel Walton, was sentenced to 55 years in prison. Walton was the leader of a group that stole $6 million worth of high-end watches from jewelry stores. Walton was a high-ranking member of an Inglewood street gang that orchestrated the robberies. The robberies were committed in shopping malls during the day. Walton along with four other men were convicted last summer. Walton was convicted of conspiring to violate the Hobbs Act by planning jewelry store robberies. Walton participated in three of the robberies. Prosecutors have convicted a total of 19 defendants who took part in at least one smash and grab robbery.
