On 4/15/20, 47-year-old Kevin Ashley pleaded guilty to eight felony charges for a slew of crimes that targeted jewelry stores and other businesses in 2017 and 2018. Some of the charges included breaking and entering, safe cracking, receiving stolen property and possessing a weapon while under a disability imposed by a previous criminal charge. Ashley was also ordered to pay more than $150,000 in restitution. Over $147,000 was to a single jewelry store in East Liverpool, OH. Prosecutors recommended Ashley serve 5.5 years in prison, however, the judge has discretion in sentencing. Ashley will be sentenced on 6/2/20.
