Late last week, a Pennsylvania Superior Court ordered a new sentencing for a man who was charged with organized retail theft from a jewelry store in Ebensburg, PA in November 2012. The Superior Court panel came to the conclusion that Judge Norman Krumenacker III did not explain why John Charles Illingworth, 40, was sent to state prison for 3.5 to 7 years for violating his probationary sentence.

Illingworth was initially placed on probation for 84 months for a no contest plea to felony retail theft. Illingworth and another man were alleged to have committed a grab and run theft of three rings valued at $11,500. Click here to learn more about how Illingworth violated his probation.
