A lone male subject entered a jewelry store under the pretense of shopping for a men’s diamond ring and bracelet. The subject gave the name of Devin and claimed to have a budget of $10,000 to spend. Once assisted by team members, the subject was presented with a men’s diamond ring to inspect. He then asked to see a second ring to compare and was advised only one piece at a time could be shown. The subject said he was a rapper and was heading to a show in Texas.

The subject also selected two diamond engagement rings and claimed he was proposing to his girlfriend. While the subject had possession of the men’s diamond ring, he reached over and grabbed the second ring from the team member’s hand and fled the store with both rings. No injuries were reported. This is the same subject involved in the recent grab-and-run thefts from Jonesboro, Memphis, Southaven, Oxford, Collierville, and Jackson, TN. If you have any information regarding this subject, please contact the Jewelers’ Security Alliance at 212-687-0328 or jsa2@jewelerssecurity.org.
