Altoona, IA– On December 23, 2024, A Jewelry store was the victim of a grab and run theft. A lone male entered the location under the pretense of shopping for a gift. The suspect claimed he was interested in buying a gold chain and charm. Once assisted, he picked out a Cuban link gold chain and then wanted a charm to place on the chain. He was presented with the gold chain to inspect. Once the suspect had access to the gold chain and charm, he fled the store with both pieces. No injures were reported. A report was filed with Altoona Police for further investigation.
Suspect(s) Description: Male, black, dark complexion, late 30’s, 5’7â€Â, 175lbs, mustache and thin beard. Wearing a ball cap, heavy hunter green jacket, dark pants and tennis shoes.
