On 4/16/22, at approximately 10:00 a.m., a male subject approached a jewelry kiosk inside of a mall and indicated he wanted to buy something for his girlfriend and requested to look at gold and diamonds. After being shown 3 different pendants he then requested to see gold chains, one of which with a pendant attached that he wanted to try on. After the sales associate informed the subject she could show it to him attached but while in her possession, the associate began to do so when the subject grabbed the chain.

At this time while he grabbed the chain, the associate also had control of the other end. The subject then demanded that she give it to him because he had a gun. The associate then continued to hold the chain and asked the subject to show her the gun whereupon he leaned forward and showed her the gun in his backpack while holding onto the handle. At this time the associate let go of the chain and the subject then directed her to open everything up and give him the good stuff.

The associate then grabbed the bracelets and handed them to him. The subject then said he wanted diamonds and to give him the pendants he chose. After doing so, he indicated he wanted her cell phone, but she replied she could not afford a new one. The subject then indicated if she called the Police, he would hurt her. After the subject requested her keys and she denied giving them to him he left. Mall Security was then notified as was the Los Angeles Police Department whereupon an investigation was initiated.

The subject was described as White and in his late 20’s to 30’s. He is 6 feet tall with neck tattoos and has “ZZZ” on his right index finger. He was wearing a black sweater, black pants, a black & navy blue backpack, and holding a black motorcycle helmet.
