ARMED ROBBERY – SOUTHERN PINES, NC

On 7/28/19, at approximately 5:30 p.m., a male subject entered a jewelry store and pointed out the lines of diamond rings that he wanted. He displayed a weapon and had the sales associate pull pads out of the showcases. The subject removed the pieces he wanted from the pads. He then took the sales associate to the back room. Another sales associate was already in the back room on a break. The subject zip-tied them together and made both associates go into the restroom. The subject tried to block off the bathroom door with a ladder. He then fled from the store. The subject was described as a Black male in his 40’s. He has a heavy build.
