On 4/10/23, at approximately 1:00 p.m., a subject entered a jewelry store and said he wanted to look at diamonds. He was described as low-key and didn’t talk much. He asked for 2-carat loose stones. Diamonds were not tested during the presentation. After the subject left the store, it was determined that one of the diamonds he handed back didn’t appear to be a diamond. It was tested and determined to be cubic zirconia. The subject was described as a 55-year-old Black male. He is 5’9″, and weighs approximately 200 lbs. He was last seen wearing glasses, a blue jacket, a pink print button-down shirt, pink shorts, a black “I Do Crew” hat, and white tennis shoes. If you have any information regarding this subject, please contact the Jewelers’ Security Alliance at jsa2@jewelerssecurity.org or 212-687-0328.
