On 3/14/23, at approximately 4:30 pm two male subjects entered a jewelry store.� They shopped for several items ultimately settling on 9 different items.� The items were rung up and placed in one box per the subjects’ request.� Subject 1 produced a large amount of cash and handed it over.� It was counted and determined to be short.� As the cash was being counted, the subject took the box to show the items to his friend.� When he was confronted with the short cash, he handed the box back and the cash was returned to him to be recounted. In this process, he then purchased a single item for $525.� Which he paid in cash.� He indicated that he would return later with the correct amount of cash to finish the purchase of the other items.� At the end of the shift, the drawer was counted to be $300 short.� Counts on the cases at the end of the day indicated that items were missing and determined to be those in the box that were not purchased.� When the box was opened to add those items back to the count, it was discovered that four were missing.�
