On 3/15/21, at approximately 6:49 p.m., a group consisting of two females and a male subject committed a distraction theft. A sales associate approached the male subject and he stated the girls were just looking and they were okay. After that, the male subject approached one of the sales associate while they were assisting another customer. The male subject asked him for help when he was done. While the associate approached the group, the second female subject stated that she was looking for an engagement ring and she would be back with her husband. The male subject and the third female subject were a couple. After looking at some of the display cases, they thanked� the associate for helping them, and then left the store.
A review of the store’s video revealed that while the two female subjects distracted the sales associate, the male subject accessed two bridal showcases. He stole engagement rings. This group has committed at least four similar thefts. The other three thefts occurred in the Miami and Aventura areas. The male subject is 5’5″ and Hispanic. He weighs approximately 174 lbs. He was last seen wearing white pants, and a white striped shirt. He has short dark hair. The subject that claimed to be looking for an engagement ring was described as a 5’4″ Hispanic female. She is in her late 20’s, and she is 110 lbs. She has long black hair. She was last seen wearing a black tank top. A taller male subject has committed thefts with this group in other crimes. That subject is also Hispanic. He is 6’2″ and weighs 210 lbs. He has dark hair and is in his mid 30’s.
