On 3/11/19, at approximately 6:53 p.m., two subjects entered a retail jewelry store and said they were looking for a gift for their father. They asked to see the most expensive bracelets. The subjects showed the sales associate $5000 in cash. They then went to the register. The subjects said they wanted to get gift wrapping paper. They then asked her to hold the bracelets. One of the subjects then said he wanted to place the items in a box. The sales associate couldn’t understand him well and the subject said he would do it. She handed him the box and at that point was distracted. The subject then wanted the items put into a different bag. The associate opened the bag while the subject placed the box in it. The associate stapled the bag shut and placed it in the safe. When the subjects didn’t return the next day, the team leader took the bag out of the safe and opened it. There was only one bracelet in the box. Surveillance footage showed one of the subjects cupping the stolen bracelet in his hand. Both subjects were described as males with medium complexions and dark hair. The first subject is 45-years-old, 5’10” and weighs 185 lbs. The second subject is 50-years-old. He is 6’0″ tall and weighs 200 lbs. If you have any information regarding these subjects, please call the Jewelers’ Security Alliance at 212-687-0328.
