In December 2019, 34-year-old Peter Baptise was arrested for his involvement in a jewelry store robbery that occurred on 3/23/13. On that date, Baptiste is believed to have brandished a black gun and ordered a sales associate into the bathroom. Baptiste’s accomplice smashed display cases and stole approximately $16,000 worth of jewelry. The two robbers then fled in a 2004 white Toyota Acura which was registered to Baptiste.

Police in Jupiter, FL found that the unidentified male subject left blood at the scene. In October 2014, an FBI database matched the blood to an individual who is serving 20 years in prison for two armed robberies. Baptiste was involved in those crimes.

In December 2014, the sales associate of the jewelry store that was robbed identified Baptiste and the unnamed male in a photo line-up. The lead investigator for this case, did not receive the DNA results until 2017. Baptiste is facing charges of robbery, theft, and kidnapping in relation to the robbery on 3/23/13.
