On 5/1/19, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a subject entered a jewelry store and claimed that he wanted to get his wife of 26 years an upgrade for her wedding ring. The subject was described as being “very nice and cheery. “The subject viewed merchandise and upon selecting a ring, he informed the associate he was going to apply for credit, but expressed that he wanted to find a band to match the ring he selected.
The subject viewed a 1cttw diamond gents 14k two-tone band, handed it back to the sales associate, and then viewed a 1cttw diamond gents 10ky band. While the associate was still holding the first band, the subject asked to compare the two rings. The associate informed the subject that she could not do that. According to the sales associate, the subject stated “oh please, you can trust meâ€Â. When she refused again, the subject grabbed the ring from her hand, and fled from the store, exiting with both rings. The subject was described as a 53-year-old Black male. He is 5’9†and has a slender build. He has salt and pepper hair and facial hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a light short sleeve shirt, and a light colored baseball hat.
