On 9/29/2022, at approximately 10:30 a.m., a male subject entered a jewelry store and stated that he was looking for a round solitaire for his second marriage. The associate showed him a few options and the subject kept asking for a larger item. The subject then requested to look at the 1.5-carat loose cushion cut diamond.
The associate removed the loose diamond from the case and requested the subject’s identification. The subject asked to look at the loose diamond again. The associate allowed him to see the loose diamond, and the subject grabbed the prop with the certification report and fled from the store. No associate or customer injuries were reported. The subject entered a black 4-door sedan. The subject was described as a Hispanic male in his mid 30’s to early 40s. He is 5’11”, has a medium build, and was last seen wearing glasses on his head, a blue face mask, an orange Houston Texans t-shirt, shorts, and tennis shoes.
