On 7/14/2021, at approximately 3:40 p.m., four male subjects approached a jewelry kiosk in a mall. Initially, one team member was assisting the subjects until a second team member approached to assist. A subject wearing the Nike hooded sweatshirt requested to look at a gold chain and shark charm. He claimed he was purchasing the items for his 4 year old brother. The team member removed the neck display containing the items from the showcase. The team member explained to the subject the chain was too long for a four year old. After doing so, the team member moved the neck display to the center counter. The subject then requested to look at a men’s diamond chain ring, which was presented to the subject. While this was happening, the other three subjects walked away from the kiosk. The second subject wearing a Puma track jacket returned to the other side of the kiosk and requested to look at a 22” gold rope chain. The subject alleged he was looking to spend $950 dollars. The team member presented the chain to the subject.

At this point, the team member assisting the subject who had possession of the men’s diamond ring picked up the neck display and attempted to return it to the showcase. The subject grabbed the neck display, containing two chains and a shark charm, from the team member and ran from the kiosk. The other subject grabbed the 22” gold rope chain from the team member and ran from the kiosk as well. The four subjects ran towards the mall exit leading into the parking garage. One subject, mistakenly tried to exit through a window next to the exit doors, breaking the window. Mall Security and the Danbury Police were notified. Mall Security provided video of the subjects and their vehicle to the Police. All four subjects are described as Black, 5’8″, and approximately 18-years-old with thin builds.
