On 10/6/20, at approximately 3:25 p.m., a subject entered a jewelry store and stated he was interested in chains. He inquired about credit cards and then asked about gold charms. The sales associate proceeded to show him charms from the catalogue, and soon the subject mentioned he wanted to see gold chains. Once at the gold chain showcase, the subject asked if he could try on the curb link chain. The sales associate became suspicious after noticing the subject was nervous and shaking badly. The associate informed him he couldn’t try on the chain due to safety protocols.
The subject then asked if he could feel the weight of the chain. At that point, the neck fixture and the chain were removed from the showcase and within a few moments, subject grabbed the fixture and the chain and fled.� The subject was in the store for seven minutes. The police were contacted and were able to recover the fixture and get a picture of the subject’s vehicle, which was described as a dark truck.
The subject was described as a 23-year-old Black male. He is 5’6â€Â, thin and has short hair. He also has a dark complexion.� He has words tattooed over his eyebrows and both arms covered in tattoos. He was last seen wearing a neon yellow mask, a black and white sports jersey with “chiefs†on the front, the number 23 on the back, with one side of the back black and one side white, dark baggy shorts and gray sneakers.
