On 10/23/19, three teenage suspects were sentenced for their involvement in a smash & grab robbery that occurred on 7/9/19, in Fort Gratiot, MI. Jaylon Conklin and Jaison Evans, both 17, were sentenced to between 30 months and 15 years in prison. Lezzerio Garner, also 17, was sentenced to between two and 15 years in prison.

All three suspects were ordered to pay court costs, attorney fees, and $8,021 in restitution for damaging the store’s glass cases. The suspects were arrested on 7/9/19 after law enforcement pursued them.

The judge, Cynthia Lane, admonished the teens by saying “Frankly, I don’t know what could possess anybody to do something so stupid.”
