On 12/14/20, a federal grand jury convicted 56-year-old Charles Walker Jr., for his involvement in robbing two jewelry stores. According to a Department of Justice press release, Walker was convicted and charged with conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act robbery, two counts of Hobbs Act robbery, brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a federal crime of violence, and witness tampering.

One of the robberies occurred in Garner, NC and the other occurred in Elizabeth City, NC. The Garner robbery took place on 10/11/18. The Elizabeth City robbery took place on 7/28/18. Walker faces a minimum of seven years to a maximum of life in prison when he is sentenced on 2/26/21.
