Memphis, TN- Police Seek Community Help to Nab Suspect in $10K Jewelry Heist at Local Gold and Diamonds Store

Memphis, TN – The Memphis Police Department responded to an unusual incident. According to the Memphis Police Department Facebook post, a felony shoplifting occurred at Memphis Gold and Diamonds on Elvis Presley Boulevard. A gold chain with a $10,000 medallion was allegedly stolen on December 12th around 4:14 p.m. The suspect, possibly named Tony White, reportedly put on the jewelry and left without paying.

The Memphis Police Department has turned to the community for assistance, urging anyone with knowledge of the event to get in touch with Crime Stoppers by dial calling 528-CASH. Informants are promised a secret ID number, ensuring their anonymity is safeguarded. Additionally, they may also submit tips online or through the P3 Tips mobile application which can be found on app stores. Incentivizing the populous further, a cash reward may be on offer if a tip leads to an arrest courtesy of Crime Stoppers of Memphis and Shelby County, Inc.

Paris, France- $312,000 jewelry stolen from a department store in Paris

Mauboussin jewelry store gets robbed

A few days before Christmas Eve, the famous Mauboussin jewelry store was robbed. Jewelry worth $312,000 (300,000 euros) was stolen.

On the morning of December 24, a security officer noticed a broken window at the Mauboussin store. After reviewing the surveillance footage, authorities saw an unidentified man entering the store, stealing the jewelry, and quickly fleeing the scene.

According to Agence France-Presse (AFP), authorities have launched an official investigation into the robbery.

Notably, jewelry thefts often occur around Christmas time in Europe. Two years ago, $100 million worth of jewelry was stolen in Los Angeles.

Mauboussin store was founded in Paris in 1827. The store presents jewelry creations, watches, and accessories for both women and men.

The store is known for participating in international exhibitions, including a bronze medal at the 1878 Universal Exhibition in Paris.

Victorville, CA- Teen stole necklaces worth $52K from jewelry store, police say.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested after he allegedly stole two necklaces from from a jewelry store at the Mall of Victor Valley.

The boy, whose identity has not been released, entered Valliani Jewelers at about 5:20 p.m. on Nov. 16, asked about two necklaces, then ran toward the exit with the jewelry, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.

The boy made it to his vehicle and drove off with the necklaces, which are worth about $52,000, authorities said. He was taken into custody at his Victorville home on Thursday and faces charges of robbery and grand theft.

Rochester Hills, MI- 2 accused of killing jeweler after posing as DTE workers at Rochester Hills home bound over for trial.

Rochester Hills, MI– The widow of a slain Hamtramck jeweler repeatedly asked two men who posed as DTE workers checking for a supposed gas leak in their Rochester Hills home where her husband was after he went to the basement with the duo, but didn’t return when the pair came back upstairs.

“I started asking: ‘Where is my husband? Where is my husband?’ And I didn’t get a response,” Linda Murray testified Tuesday during a preliminary exam in 52-3 District Court in Rochester Hills for two men charged in the Oct. 11 death of her husband, Hussein (Sam) Murray, to whom she was married for 54 years.

District Judge Laura Polizzi bound over both men — Carlos Hernandez, 38, and Joshua Zuazo, 39, both of Dearborn — to stand trial in Oakland County Circuit Court. Each is charged with one count of felony murder and two counts of unlawful imprisonment.

LITTLE ROCK, AR- GRAB AND RUN.

Little Rock, AR– On December 20, 2024, a grab and run theft incident was reported by a lone male entered who the store under the pretense of shopping for a gift. He immediately approached the showcase that was closest to the front door. Once assisted, he asked to see a pair of 1ct diamond earrings. The earrings were removed from the showcase and placed on the counter. During this presentation, the suspect wanted to compare the first pair with another pair of diamond earrings. When the team member turned away, the suspect grabbed both sets and fled the store in an unknown direction. The suspect was in the store less than 3 minutes. It is believed that the same suspect was in the store with another male the night before. No injuries were reported. A report was filed with North Little Rock Police.

Suspect(s) Description: Male, white, 45-50 years old, tall, thin build, salt and pepper hair with a long ponytail. Wearing a Milwaukee gray ball cap, gray shirt, glasses, tan pants and dark tennis shoes.

ARLINGTON, TX- SMASH AND GRAB ROBBERY

Arlington, TX- On December 20, 2024 at the Village by the Park mall, a jewelery store reported a smash and Grab robbery involving four male suspects at closing time on Dec 19th.
Four males ran into the store all covered in dark clothing with the exception of one wearing a green jacket. Upon entry the suspects directed the employees to stay down. One male suspect stayed at the door and acted as a lookout , The other three suspects used a rock and a type of claw hammer to get into the case housing gold chains. They removed an undetermined amount of gold product. The event lasted less than three minutes. Authorities were contacted and arrived on scene shortly. This investigation is on-going.

  1. Black Male; 6FT Thin Build w Dark complexion; Possibly Mid-twenties.
  2. Black Male; Medium Build; 5’10 to 6Ft.
  3. Black Male; 5”10 to 6Ft; Thin to Medium Build.

ST GEORGE, UTAH- BURGLARY of JEWELRY STORE.

St. George, Utah– On December 23, 2024, at the Red Cliffs Mall- it was reported that a burglary incident occurred at a Jewelry store in St. George, Utah. Two male suspects gained entry into the mall by removing the lock and push bar of the entry door of the mall by using a metal grinder. The two male suspects then gained entry to the store by removing several bars of the gate using the metal grinder and walked inside the store. The two males used small sledgehammers to begin to break down the sliding doors to the display showcases, 3 total showcases total, and removed and concealed the pieces into their black duffle bags. The two males then exited the store from the opening of the gate and exited the mall. Mall Security and St. George Police Department were called and responded to this incident. No injuries were reported.

Suspect #1- Male, 30-40 yrs. old, 5’10, 160lbs, white/black mask, black hoodie, black gloves, black pants, black work boots, carrying a large black duffle bag.

Suspect #2- Male, 20-30yrs. old, 5’8, 150lbs, white/black mask, black hoodie with white draw strings, denim pants, black/white shoes, carry a black backpack

ALTOONA, IA- GRAB AND RUN

Altoona, IA– On December 23, 2024, A Jewelry store was the victim of a grab and run theft. A lone male entered the location under the pretense of shopping for a gift. The suspect claimed he was interested in buying a gold chain and charm. Once assisted, he picked out a Cuban link gold chain and then wanted a charm to place on the chain. He was presented with the gold chain to inspect. Once the suspect had access to the gold chain and charm, he fled the store with both pieces. No injures were reported. A report was filed with Altoona Police for further investigation.

Suspect(s) Description: Male, black, dark complexion, late 30’s, 5’7”, 175lbs, mustache and thin beard. Wearing a ball cap, heavy hunter green jacket, dark pants and tennis shoes.

North Attleboro, MA – GRAB AND RUN (REPEAT OFFENDER)

North Attleboro, MA– On 12/19/2024, a lone male suspect entered the store. The suspect alleged he was looking to purchase a gold chain. After discussing several options, the suspect requested to look at the Cuban Curb necklace described above. The employee advised the suspect only one item can be presented. The suspect secured the necklace around his neck and then removed the necklace. At that point, the suspect balled the chain up in his right hand and ran from the store. No injuries were reported. Mall Security and the North Attleboro Police were notified.

Suspect(s) Description: Male, Black, thin build, 28 to 34yrs, 5’9”, short black hair, black beard, wearing a black graphic pullover, jeans, and black Nike sneakers. Note, the suspect is wearing the same sneakers in all photos below.

SILVERDALE, WA- GRAB AND RUN

Silverdale, WA- On December 21, 2024, at the Kitsap Mall, a grab and run occurred when a lone male approached the store and asked to see a variety of items. He indicated he was shopping for his girlfriend and was looking for a set of gold items. The suspect was allowed to try on a gold chain with a star pendant while also looking at a pair of earrings and a gold ring. Once the pendant and chain were around his neck, he grabbed the earrings and the ring and ran from the location without making payment. No person was injured in this incident. Mall security was advised and a report filed with local police. The suspect fled in a vehicle with license plate CCY1064 as per security. Possibly on a Hellcat.

Suspect(s) Description: The suspect is described as a Hispanic or lighter skinned black male in his late 20s early 30 years of age. He was 5’7” tall and weighted approximately 165 pounds. He wore dark colored pants panda black puffy Nike jacket and a black wool hat with a Nike logo on the front. He wore a white t-shirt under a black sweatshirt, white socks, and dark colored running shoes. The suspect appeared to have a mustache and tattoos on his neck and hand. Team members describe seeing a flame tattoo on his neck and a rose tattoo on his hand.
