Subjects, of Eastern European Descent, sought in theft of Gold Chain from Jewelry store

YONKERS, NY– On September 03, 2024 – Two female subjects, of Eastern European descent, entered a jewelry store and requested to look at gold necklaces. Subject 1 pointed out a necklace in the showcase. The employee presented the necklace, at which time subject 1 took possession of necklace, looked at it and returned it to the team member. Additional gold chains were shown to the subjects. The employee removed the necklace tray and placed it on the top of the showcase. The two subjects continued to engage with the team member, while distracting the employee and stealing a necklace. The subjects continued to engage the employee for an additional five minutes before exiting the store. The loss was later identified while conducting merchandise counts. No injuries were reported. A report was filed with the Yonkers Police Department.

Suspect 1: Female, White European, 5’6”, medium build, 58 to 65 yrs, wearing a blue top, black skirt, sandals, carrying a handbag and wallet.

Suspect 2: Female, White European, 5’6”, medium build, 58 to 65 yrs, wearing a multi colors top, black shirt, sandals, carrying a handbag and large black bag.

Recommendations- Jewelers and their employees should be alert to transnational organized crime groups distraction efforts. Be alert and adhere to company policy and procedures when showing products to customers. If a concern exists, ask another employee to assist you during the interaction with customer(s). More than one employee will mitigate the success of distraction efforts by criminals.

San Francisco, CA- Suspects smash jewelry cases at San Rafael shop during brazen robbery.

San Francisco, CA – September 4, 2024 – Police in San Rafael have released surveillance video of a group of suspects who allegedly targeted jewelry display cases at a consignment shop during a brazen robbery early Tuesday evening. While police are hoping the public will be able to assist them in identifying the suspects in the crime, they warned that the individuals should be considered dangerous. NOTE: Suspects were seen fleeing in a white Toyota Highlander.

Newark, NJ- 4 subjects wanted in daytime smash and grab robbery of Newark jewelry store.

Newark, NJ- August 28, 2024 – On Saturday afternoon, several suspects smashed display cases with hammers at a jewelry store before fleeing in a black Ford Explorer.

Beloit Police looking for suspects after alleged jewelry thefts

Beloit, WI – August 28, 2024 – Police released images of the two suspects. Police said one subject, wearing a white hat, blue t-shirt and black pants, acted as a lookout. A second subject, wearing a black hat, white sunglasses, light colored sweatshirt and black pants, allegedly broke the lock of the case and took multiple high-value jewelry items.

2 Teens, 5 Adults Convicted of South Bay Jewelry Store Robbery

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — August 28, 2024 – Seven suspects, including two minors, were convicted of robbing a fine jewelry store in Manhattan Beach, police announced Wednesday. The robbery occurred on March 22. That day, the robbery crew smashed display cases with hammers, grabbed jewelry and fled the store in awaiting vehicles.

The five adults accepted plea deals and pleaded guilty on Friday, Manhattan Beach police said. Under the bargain, the men will serve time ranging from 3 to 16 years in state prison and will receive a strike for their part in the robbery.

The adults were identified as:

Twuan Walker, 20, of Lancaster
Alan Daniels, 25, of Los Angeles
Eworth Sutherland, 24, of Los Angeles
Johndean Blocker, 24, of Los Angeles
Jamil Edwards, 25, of Los Angeles

Brentwood Theft Subject

Subject sought in distraction theft of Sapphire Ring

Brentwood, TN – July 2, 2024 – At approximately 4:00 p.m., on the date listed, a jewelry store was the victim of a distraction theft. It was discovered that a ring was missing during inventory counts. The employees recalled a suspicious male in the store the day prior handling the ring above. The subject was in the store for approximately 25 minutes as he walked throughout the store looking at various pieces from multiple showcases. While at the showcase containing high-end watches, the subject asked to see multiple watches.

He tried giving an ID along with a wad of cash for the employee to hold while he inspected the watch. Only one piece was shown at a time. The subject then proceeded to the clearance case and asked to see several different ladies’ rings. The subject was given the above blue sapphire ring to inspect. While in his possession, he was on the phone with a female that was also speaking with the employee. The subject asked to see other pieces in showcase. During this time, he was able to distract the employee and pocket the sapphire ring before leaving the store. A report was filed with Nashville Police for further investigation.

Suspect(s) Description: Male, possibly Middle Eastern, 19-24 years old, 5’6”, 170lbs, stocky, slight goatee, short dark hair with blonde highlights and spoke with an accent. Wearing a dark blue t-shirt, grey shorts and brown shoes with white trim.

Recommendations: Jewelers and their employees should remember to be alert and be mindful to the various distraction techniques used by criminals to include, but not limited to use of a cell phone during showing, multiple people speaking at once, and attempts for employee to show more than one item at a time.

Suspects charged following robbery

ELLENTON, FLORIDA – August 27, 2024 – Two out of four suspects have been arrested after an attempted armed robbery at Ellenton Outlet Mall about two weeks ago, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials say 38-year-old Markeice Craft and 42-year-old Ronnie Wilson were the two getaway drivers for two unknown suspects who went into a jewelry store on Aug. 14 around 3 p.m.

Three men facing federal charges for robbing Jewelry store of $500K in gold and silver

Lawrence, MA– August 22, 2024 – Three men are facing federal charges for robbing a store of $500,000 worth of jewelry and precious metals last year. A criminal complaint was unsealed Wednesday charging 26-year-old Eric Rosario, 26-year-old Rosnel Polanco and 29-year-old Robert Santana, all of Lawrence, with one count each of conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Santana was arrested Wednesday, while Rosario and Polanco were previously arrested on related state charges and remain in custody.

According to the charging documents, on Dec. 15, 2023, the three defendants entered a Lawrence jewelry store armed with guns. Numerous store employees were present at the time, and the defendants allegedly robbed the store.  

All three are expected to appear in federal court in Boston at a later date.

Jewelry store worker fires shots at subjects during armed robbery

Dearborn, MI – August 7, 2024 – Masked robbers held up a Dearborn jewelry store at gunpoint last week until an employee fired shots their way, police say. The incident took place about 5:30 p.m. Aug. 7 at a jewelry store in Dearborn, MI.

Two men in masks entered the store with a rifle and demanded employees and customers get on the ground, police said. One masked suspect then held everyone at gunpoint while the other ransacked the place, putting items in a bag. An employee ended up firing several shots at the robbers, and they fled, police.
