Las Vegas, NV – On March 25, 2017 at approximately 3:00 a.m., three suspects wearing suits and pig masks ransacked a jewelry store.
JSA Offers Reward in Smash and Grab Robbery
Hinsdale, IL – On March 24, 2017 the Jewelers Security Alliance (JSA) offered a $3,000 reward for information on a gunpoint robbery of a jewelry store.
GRAB AND RUN – ALBANY, OREGON
On 3/23/17, at approximately 7:18 p.m., a male suspect inquired about men’s rings. He said he was looking for his mother’s future husband. The suspect and the sales associate sat down to look at rings. After the associate handed the suspect a ring, the suspect slid it on his finger and then claimed it was stuck. As another associate went to get Windex to remove the ring, the suspect stood up and ran out of the store with the ring. He was described as a 23-year-old white male. He is 5’4†tall and heavy set. He has brown hair and slight facial hair. He was last seen wearing a gray raider’s hat with two stickers on the bill. He also wore a gray hoodie with a sweatshirt and dark colored sweatpants. DISTRACTION THEFT – DURHAM, NC
On 3/22/17, two suspects entered a store together, then separated. One of the sales associates showed bands to one of the men, while a second associate showed the other suspect gold chains. The suspects asked to look at several items. One sales associate went in and out of the showcases several times. She lost track of one of the chains the suspect held in his possession. The suspect stayed in the store for 30 minutes. One of the suspects said he wanted to exchange a ring for the chain. He said he would go to his car to get a ring and receipt. The suspect that took the chain was described as a 45-year-old black male. He is 5’5†tall and weighs 175 pounds. He has dark skin and a scruffy beard. He also has short curly hair. DISTRACTION THEFT- DAYTON, OH
On 3/21/17, at approximately 6:00 p.m., a sales associate discovered a portion of a sliding glass display was pried open. After an inventory audit, a bracelet was determined to be missing. The sales associates remembered two suspects who acted strangely earlier in the day. A male and female couple looked at rings. The female suspect reached into the case to get a ring and cleaned a ring with her shirt. The male reached into a case as well. Nothing was found to be missing from that case. As they were looking at items, the suspects asked the sales associates to leave them alone so that they could discuss their finances. It is believed that the suspects used this opportunity to steal merchandise. Both suspects are Black. The male suspect is 30-years-old, 6 feet tall and weighs 200 pounds. He wore a puffy green jacket. He also wore a flat billed hat and had a short black beard. His eyes appeared to be wide apart. The female suspect is 30-years old and 5’5†tall. Brooklyn, NY – On March 2, 2017 at approximately 12:26 p.m., an elderly couple stole diamonds from a jewelry store.
GRAB AND RUN – MONTCLAIR, CA
On 3/15/17, at approximately 12:30 p.m., three suspects entered a jewelry store. The suspects viewed rings and then left the store. Then at 2:30 p.m., two of the suspects returned to the store and asked to see the rings they saw in their earlier visit. The sales associate presented a bridal set, the suspects then fled from the store with the item. The suspects were three Black males. All suspects are 5’9†tall, weigh 165 pounds and are approximately 20-years-old. One suspect wore a black and white tank top shirt. A second wore a black tank top and the third suspect wore a grey tank top. GRAB AND RUN – PORTLAND, OR
On 3/17/17, at approximately 8:45 p.m., a suspect approached a mall kiosk and asked to see men’s rings. After he tried on a ring he stated he couldn’t take it off; it was stuck. The sales associate’s used jewelry and hand sanitizer in an attempt to remove it. At that point, the sales associate requested a mall janitor to help her escort the suspect to the restroom to remove the ring. The suspect then ran from the store. He was described as a 50-year-old Black male. He is 6’0†tall and has short hair. He was last seen wearing a purple Lakers jacket. He weighs 160 pounds.
