DIAMOND SWITCH – CORPUS CHRISTI, TX

On 1/10/17, at approximately 6:40 p.m., a suspect committed a diamond switch. The suspect concealed a ring in his palm and then asked to see a diamond anniversary band. The suspect took the ring to the store’s gem-scope and examined the piece. When the sales associate was not paying attention, the suspect placed the ring into his shirt and left the fake ring in place. The associate realized the ring had been switched. When she asked the suspect to return the ring, the suspect denied any wrongdoing. He then left the store. DISTRACTION THEFT – ALTOONA, PA

On January 8, 2017 at approximately 12:15 p.m, a female suspect inquired about gold chains. The sales associate showed the suspect a gold rope chain. The suspect then asked to see a gold band. The sales associate allowed the suspect to be in possession of both items at the same time. � While the suspect held both pieces, she directed the sales associate’s attention to other cases and to her children. The suspect left the store with both items. The theft was not discovered until the following day. The suspect appeared to be a 40-year Middle Eastern female. DIAMOND SWITCH – PHOENIX, AZ

On 1/5/17, at approximately 12:50 p.m., a suspect stated he was looking for “something big” for his 10 year anniversary. The sales associate asked the suspect what he bought his wife in the past. The suspect said “I don’t know but nothing this big” (referring to a diamond ring he was shown). The suspect then switched the real ring with a fake ring. He was described as a 55-year-old Middle Eastern Male. He wore a black two piece suit and a white button down shirt with black shoes.
