DISTRACTION THEFT – CHEEKTOWAGA, NY

On 4/30/16, at approximately 4:11 p.m., a suspect requested to see various gold chains. The suspect confused the sales associate by requesting to see several different chains and at one point the sales associate had three chains out of the showcase at once. While the sales associate was confused as to which chains she had out, the suspect concealed a chain in his pocket and left the location. The suspect is described as a 5’11” white male. He is 220 pounds and in his fifties. He has salt and pepper hair and was last seen wearing a college jacket and white shoes. ARMED ROBBERY – MIAMI, FL

On 4/28/16, at approximately 6:30 p.m., a subject came into the store as the owner was closing up. The subject began to look at some items and then displayed a handgun. He used the gun to force the owner to empty a trash bin in the back of the business. The subject then forced the owner to start putting jewelry and watches inside the bin. After that, he took the owner to the back of the store, handcuffed him and began to demand more money and merchandise. The subject ran out with a green duffel bag, which police believe contained stolen merchandise. The subject is described as a White or Hispanic male. He is between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall. He wore dark clothing and a fisherman’s hat. GRAB & RUN – SEATTLE, WA

On 4/19/16, at approximately 8:55 p.m., two suspects walked to the diamond showcase and asked to see a ring. The first suspect looked at three different rings. On the last presentation, the suspect ran from the store. The second suspect froze and the sales associate said that he had to wait. He too then ran from the store. The first suspect is described as an 18-year-old African American male. He is 5’8” and weighs 145 pounds. He wore a black sweater suit with white stripes and red and white shoes. The second suspect is a 17-year-old male. He is also 5’8’ and weighs 145 pounds. He wore a grey and red jacket with red shoes. ARMED ROBBERY – COACHELLA, CA

On 4/24/16, at approximately 4:00 p.m., a man committed a gunpoint robbery of a jewelry store. The subject brandished a gun toward the cashier and demanded money. The subject then ran out of the store on foot and headed west. The subject was described as a Hispanic man. He is 20-years-old, wore a black hat and white shirt with blue jeans. DISTRACTION THEFT – CINCINNATI, OH

On 4/25/16, at approximately 12:00 p.m., a female subject stated she wanted to see gold chains. The subject stated she had been ripped off in the past by not buying real gold. She also stated she had tax money and said she only wanted to see 14 Karat gold chains. The subject was shown a chain which she placed around her neck. She then removed it and placed it on the counter pad alongside two other chains that the sales associate placed there. After the sales associate asked her manager a question and turned her head, she noticed one of the chains on the counter was missing. The associate began searching for the item and asked the subject if she had it. The subject said she did not have it and began checking her clothing and then left the area stating she was getting her driver’s license to complete a credit application. However, she never returned to the store. While leaving she was asked for her name; she said Casey. She is a 35-year-old White female. She weighs 200 pounds and is approximately 5’4” tall. She wore a gray hoodie with blue jeans with rips in them and white shoes. She had a lip ring in her upper lip that contained a blue stone. She was initially in the store with a White male in his 40’s that was 6’0” tall and weighed 250 pounds. He wore a white t-shirt and green pants and was balding on top of his head and had black curly hair on the sides of his head. DISTRACTION THEFT – HOOVER, AL

On 4/17/16, at approximately 3:40 p.m., two subjects looked at anniversary bands. The subjects brought two pieces of CZ Jewelry into the store with them. The subjects were then shown multiple pieces and asked sales associates many questions as they shuffled their rings during the presentation. The subjects left and the anniversary was noticed missing. After reviewing surveillance footage associates discovered the male subject palming the anniversary ring and placing it into his pocket during the presentation. The male subject was contacted from the information he gave for an appraisal appointment. Within ten minutes, the female subject called the store to confirm she had the anniversary ring in her possession and wanted to return it. The diamond ring was returned to the store.
