GUNPOINT ROBBERY – TRUMBULL, CT

On 4/20/16, at approximately 6:00 p.m., a subject committed a gunpoint robbery of a jewelry store. The subject approached an employee and raised the waist of his pants, revealing, what appeared to be a gun. The suspect told the employee to open the register, she replied by saying she was unable to without a sale. The suspect then instructed the employee to the back room. She complied. Shortly after that, the subject exited the store. The subject is described as a 30-year-old African American male. He is 5’8” and has a medium build. UPDATE TO HENDERSON, NV DOUBLE HOMICIDE

According to the Henderson Police Department 38-year-old Brian Kleynen was arrested on 4/19/16 in connection to a double homicide. Investigators believe Kleynen staged his own kidnapping in order to rob a jewelry store. After midnight on April 12, police responded to a car and fire crash. Two men in the vehicle had been shot and killed. Investigators believe the victim received threatening calls and texts from Kleynen on April 11. Kleynen, 36-year-old Lanard Wilson and 27-year-old Selvy Auston met the victim and demanded he get in the car. Initially the victim refused but saw his former employee zip tied in the backseat of the car. The victim was intimidated into accessing the jewelry store where he worked. The victim then stated he could not access the store without his keys. The driver then drove to the victims home so he could get the keys. Once the victim was back in the car, he managed to remove a concealed weapon and then shot and killed both the driver and the front passenger. According to police, Kleynan admitted to planning and staging his own kidnapping in order to rob a jewelry store where the victim works. Investigators determined the victim acted in self-defense and said he will not be charged.

SHOTS FIRED IN ARMED ROBBERY

Carcar, Philippines �” April 16, 2016
According to Investigators at least eight men robbed a jewelry store and shot two security guards. The suspects concealed their identities and spoke in different languages to confuse the victims. At least four of the suspects were armed. The suspects stole a large quantity of jewelry and then fled on motorcycles. Some witnesses believe the suspects also escaped in a sedan.

KIDNAPPED JEWELER KILLS ASSAILANTS – HENDERSON, NV

On 4/12/16, two subjects went to the home of a jeweler and told him they had one of his employees bound with zip ties. The two subjects ordered the jeweler to come with them in their car. The jeweler complied and entered the backseat of the subjects’ Nissan Altima. As they were driving through a neighborhood, the jeweler pulled out a concealed weapon, and then shot and killed the driver of the vehicle as well as the passenger in the front seat. The vehicle, having no driver, struck a car and then crashed into the side of a house. The jeweler sustained minor injuries, while both suspects were pronounced dead on the scene. The deceased suspects are identified as 34-year-old Lanard Lafare Wilson Jr., and 25-year-old Selvy Austin.

DISTRACTION THEFT – BUFFALO, NY

On 4/11/16, at approximately 8:25 p.m., a subject requested to see various watches over a 45 minute time period. The subject confused the sales associate by taking his own watch on and off and placing it on the counter pad and requesting to see other watches. While the subject had possession of the store’s watch he turned his back to the two sales associates assisting him. He then concealed the watch. The subject had shopped in the location before. He is described as a 28-year-old White male. He has an average build and wore a red pull over cardigan with blue pants and black sneakers. GLASS LIFT – PINEVILLE, NC

On 4/12/16, two male suspects committed a glass lift on a display case of a jewelry store. One of the suspects made sure all of the associates were kept on the other side of the store, facing away from the display case. There was a small chip on the bottom of the glass door, as well as marks on the frame under the chipped glass. Evidently, the suspects were able to use some type of wire or coat hanger under the door to pull the ring out. The theft was not discovered until the following day when inventory counts were done. Both suspects are described as African American males. One suspect is 60-years-old, 6”0” and weighs 180 pounds. The second suspect is 35-years-old, 6’1” and weighs 180 pounds.
