On 8/26/16, at approximately 6:40 p.m., the sales associate presented the suspect with a chain, which he tried on. The suspect inquired about several other items and asked to see them. The sales associate told the suspect he could only view one item at a time. At that point, the suspect grabbed two chains from the sales associate and fled. The suspect was described as a 20-year-old Black male. He is 5’9†and weighs 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and black jeans. He also had fade lines cut into his hair. ARMED ROBBERY – ASHEVILLE, NC
On 8/24/16, at approximately 10:30 a.m., two suspects committed a gunpoint robbery at a jewelry store. After entering the store, the suspects brandished a gun and said “Everybody hands up. Step away.†The suspects then smashed three display cases and stole merchandise. They wore camouflage clothing and masks covering their faces. They fled in an unidentified vehicle. DISTACTION THEFT – PEMBROKE PINES, FL
On 8/21/16, at approximately 4:00 p.m., a female suspect was being assisted by a sales associate. The suspect had two minor children with her. After viewing several pieces of jewelry, the suspect left without making a purchase. The sales associate realized that the suspect did not return a bracelet she was presented. The suspect was described as a Black female in her late 40’s. She is 5’4†and has brown/blonde hair. DISTRACTION THEFT – WATERFORD, CT
On 8/20/16, at approximately 7:00 p.m., a subject requested to look at a heart ring. He held the ring up in a way that caused the sales associate to turn her body to look at the ring. As this occurred, the showcase was unlocked. While the suspect was distracting the sales associate, he reached into the showcase and removed two rings. The sales associate heard the suspect hit his hand in the showcase, as he removed rings. The sales associate then grabbed the heart ring and placed it back into the showcase. The subject then quickly left the store. The subject was described as a 45-year-old Black male. He is 5’2†and has a thin build. He had black dreadlocks and wore a hat with a dark shirt and pants. SMASH AND GRAB – NOVI, MI
On 8/20/16, at approximately 6:00 p.m., three suspects used hammers to commit a smash and grab robbery. The suspects smashed open jewelry display cases and stole watches. The suspects then fled in a Chrysler 200. The suspects have been described as Black males. GRAB AND RUN – KANSAS CITY, MO
On 8/18/16, at approximately 7:45 p.m., a male suspect requested to look at gold chains. The sales associate handed the suspect two gold chains. The suspect placed the chains around his neck, then requested to see diamond studs. The sales associate asked the suspect to take off the chains, before presenting other merchandise. The suspect said he would rather not remove the chains and exited the store. He then drove away in a Chevrolet Tahoe. The suspect was described as a 24-year-old black male with a dark complexion. He is 6 feet tall and has a slender build. He weighs approximately 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black cap, black t-shirt and black basketball shorts with red stripes on the sides. On 8/17/16, at approximately 10:26 A.M., three subjects used rubber mallets to commit a robbery. The suspects smashed showcases and stole a large quantity of merchandise. The first subject is described as a black male with a thin build. He wore black clothing and a hoodie. The second subject is a black male with a heavy set build. He wore a dark hoodie and black pants. The third subject is described as a black male with a medium build. He wore a red hoodie and black pants. All three subjects had hammers and wore latex gloves. On 8/15/16, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a subject stated he wanted to buy a ring for his wife. As soon as the sales associates presented an item the suspect asked to see, the suspect grabbed it and fled from the store. The suspect was described as a Black male in his mid-twenties. He is 6’0†tall and has a slim build, short hair and slight facial hair. On 8/12/16, at approximately 4:45 p.m., a subject inquired about men’s rings. The subject selected a ring. The sales associate turned away to process the transaction. When the associate turned back around, the ring was gone. The subject stated he returned it to the sales associate, however, he did not. The subject was described as a Black male with a thin build. He is approximately 5’8.†He has black hair and wore blue jeans and a white t-shirt.
